PANDEMIC
The human beings who inhabit this world are going through an unexpected and serious situation. Apparently it is known where and when this disaster began, but its end is uncertain. COVID 19 is cruelly striking some regions causing anguish and pain. And slowly but steadily it is invading our territories. Hopefully the wisdom of our governments, and mainly the intelligence, responsibility and solidarity of our peoples, will allow us to get out of this nightmare as soon as possible.
The South American Bloc of the International Karate Do Goju Kai Association remains attentive in the face of this new and changing situation. The authorities of each member country will adapt and regulate their activities according to the prevailing reality in their country. However, I think it is necessary to keep in mind today more than ever that those of us who carry karate-do in our souls, always have a Dojo under our feet for our practices, without the need to go anywhere.
Next October, the South American Bloc plans to celebrate an important event in the city of Mendoza, Argentina, with the presence of our Saiko Shihan Goshi Yamaguchi. And according to communications received, we will also be honored with the participation of members from North America. The continuous and unpredictable changes due to the current situation make it impossible for us to predict today, March 16, 2020, whether or not this event will occur. However, it is likely that within one month Kyoshi Shihan Andrés Avila Laurencio as Director of the Organizing Subsidiary – Argentina – along with the rest of the involved countries, Saiko Shihan Goshi Yamaguchi, and the undersigned will have more information to make the necessary decisions. And if before that time new developments arise either for or against, it will be resolved accordingly by notifying everyone immediately.
To finish, a personal request: to date, this virus has shown only one specific limitation: it is not possible for it to move by its own means. It needs us to transport it. Please, do not help it. If we isolate ourselves FOR THE GOOD OF ALL, it will die isolated.

Los seres humanos que habitamos este mundo estamos atravesando una situación inesperada y grave. Aparentemente se sabe dónde y cuándo comenzó este desastre, pero su fin es incierto. El COVID 19 está golpeando cruelmente algunas regiones provocando angustia y dolor. Y lentamente pero a paso firme invade nuestros territorios. Ojalá la sabiduría de nuestros gobiernos y principalmente la inteligencia, responsabilidad y solidaridad de nuestros pueblos nos permitan salir cuanto antes de esta pesadilla.
El Bloque Sudamericano de la International Karate Do Goju Kai Association se mantiene expectante ante esta nueva y cambiante situación. Las autoridades de cada país miembro adecuarán y regularán las actividades de acuerdo a la realidad imperante en su país. No obstante creo necesario tener presente hoy más que nunca que quienes llevamos el karate-do en el alma, siempre tenemos bajo nuestros pies un Dojo para nuestras prácticas, sin necesidad de trasladarnos a ningún lado.
En el próximo mes de Octubre el Bloque Sudamericano celebrará un importante evento en la ciudad de Mendoza – Argentina, con la presencia de nuestro Saiko Shihan Goshi Yamaguchi. Y de acuerdo a comunicaciones recibidas también nos honrarán con su asistencia miembros de Norteamérica. Los permanentes e impredecibles cambios de la situación nos hacen imposible vaticinar hoy, 16 de marzo de 2020 la realización o no de dicho evento. No obstante es probable que transcurrido un mes Kyoshi Shihan Andrés Ávila Laurencio como Director de la Filial organizadora – Argentina – junto con el resto de los países intervinientes, Saiko Shihan Goshi Yamaguchi y quien suscribe cuenten con más elementos de juicio para tomar las resoluciones que sean necesarias. Y si antes de ese lapso surgen novedades a favor o en contra, se resolverá en consecuencia notificándose a todos de inmediato.
Para finalizar, un pedido personal: hasta la fecha, este virus ha mostrado una sola limitación concreta: no se puede trasladar por sus medios. Necesita que nosotros lo transportemos. Por favor, no lo ayuden. Si nosotros nos aislamos POR EL BIEN DE TODOS, morirá aislado.
